Which tray type should I choose for my distillation column?

Sieve trays suit clean services with steady loads at the lowest cost. Fixed valve trays add fouling resistance and better turndown. Floating valve trays handle wide load variations with high efficiency. Bubble cap trays are used where very low liquid rates or positive liquid sealing are required. Our engineers recommend a tray type after reviewing your vapor and liquid loads, operating pressure and fouling tendency.

When is structured packing better than trays?

Structured packing is generally preferred for vacuum distillation, heat-sensitive products and revamps that need more capacity or efficiency within the same shell, because it offers a much lower pressure drop per theoretical stage than trays.

What materials do you manufacture column internals and wire mesh in?

Standard materials include stainless steel 304, 304L, 316 and 316L. Wire mesh is also produced in Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel, nickel, titanium, copper, brass and phosphor bronze. Other alloys can be supplied to project specification.

What information is needed for an accurate quotation?

Share the column diameter, number of trays or packed bed height, material of construction, design pressure and temperature, process data sheet or drawings, required quantity and delivery destination. For wire mesh, provide alloy, mesh count, wire diameter, weave type and roll or panel size.
